Passion is Good

When I first saw the footage of a teary-eyed Hillary Clinton I knew her opponents would use it as ammunition against her. Most media who showed the clip reminded viewers that a campaign is much like an Olympic event where you give blood, sweat and tears and where often fatigue takes over resilience and ambition. John Edwards – apparently emotionless – was quick to give Clinton flack with a less than clever remark. The fact Hillary Clinton showed emotion is testament she is passionate, not weak. I think it might be good to have a Commander-in-Chief who actually feels sadness when citizens are trapped atop a house, surrounded with mounting water or when an attack in an unjustified war makes innocent victims. John Edwards should concentrate on his dwindling campaign and on replacing the Valvoline in his veins instead of trying to crush his opponents’ passion.
