I'm Watching.

Fidel has stepped down and despite the media fanfare and its over-analysis of this historical move, it is not there that the power lays. The next step is in the hands of the Cuban Diaspora, located primarily in Miami. The Nostalgics and Exiled have been roaring for 49 years. And so I’m watching this Diaspora, looking for an example to follow once Haiti is ready to cleanse itself of old foes. I’m watching the Cuban elders to see if they will breathe life into the Island with capital, infrastructure, innovation and change. I’m watching to make sure old bourgeois don’t go back only to reclaim lands, titles and status. I’m watching to see if Cuba follows the air of Change we are all hoping for. There, here and everywhere.
